Five Seasons Cincinnati is pleased to offer metabolic rate testing for our members.  The MedGem is an innovative hand held device which measures the number of calories you burn each day.  The test will only take 5-10 minutes.  The results will show your oxygen consumption (VO2) and your calories burned each day.  Determine how many calories you burn, what you should be consuming, and how much exercise you need.

Test requirements:

AVOID doing the following for 4 hours prior to the test: eating or drinking beverages that contain calories or caffeine, exercising, or taking nutritional supplements and medication that contain ephedra, Ma Huang, or pseudoephedrine for at least 4 hours prior to the test.  AVOID smoking or nicotine use for at least 1 hour prior to the test.
